[TYPO3-shop] Mixed currencies in shop

Hi,
I would like to set up a shop which does not have a consistent currency
on the items. Therefore I'd need to add a currency field to the
tt_products table. This would then alter the displayed currency in the
FE display of the item and obviously I'd have to calculate a price in
one destination currency upon checkout/selection.
I had a bit of a look at the available hooks and am now wondering if
could use one of the marker hooks and the changeBasket hook to do this.
Does anyone have an idea if that will work?
