Yes, bringing a new language in to the flexform is just a matter of 
defining a new website language - thats really simple :)

I've been having the same considerations - I think it's a matter of 
choise. However, it seems to me, that a product search is more specific 
than a general page search.

So, my plan was to make a search algorithm for products only. The 
drawback is that we need to work on the whole record set, as mysql 
search functions imho are unusable. This might be a problem for shops 
with a large number of products.
