As I wrote in my last post I´m currently working on extending 
tt_products. Things are going on but I´m not fulltime into that. The 
issues mentioned in this thread are solved and backend is ready for the 
first steps. Right now I´m writing a tool for migrating product data 
from the old application to TYPO3 but thats pure Coldfusion and maybe 
not interesting to integrate into TYPO3 because the old application runs 
on a propietary product thats not really widely used.

I would like to see my changes running back into tt_products and surely 
don´t plan raising the next xx_products extension or forking tt_products.

Looking forward I see the first beta in October/November. There´s 
nothing done for the frontend part today so I guess it makes no sense 
releasing anything yet. Hope I´m not too late.
