[Typo3-shop] Will there be a single-item Shop-System in the near future?

so far i know - none of the existing extension updates the products 
table befor finishing the shopping process. so there seems no way out, 
then modifing it yourself.
BUT there are some probs. whats if the order never gets finished and you 
don't book back the items in the basket? your shop says - not in stock, 
but the product in reality is in stock because its not sold... so think 
of it if this is the way you like your shop to work.
