[TYPO3-ttnews] extend tx_news with extra database fields

Hi,

Does anybody have a working example how to extend tx_news with extra 
database fields?

Tried this example 
http://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/extensions/news/Main/Tutorial/ExtendingNews/Index.html

But if I install the extension that contains the extra fields all 
existing fields in tx_news disappear (so officious something is wrong).
