Certainly when the time comes to upgrade our in-house distribution to 
6.2. But not officially, I'll leave it as a fork on Github.

When I first looked into the compatibility issues of linkhandler and 
TYPO3 6+, I thought it might actually be better to rewrite the extension 
entirely. But that part of TYPO3 is so obscure, messy and undocumented 
that I fell back on just patching.
