[TYPO3-ttnews] tx_news - Extend news fields with custom extension

I forgot to ask, if it is possible to hide certain fields (e.g. 
autor_email)?

TCEFORM.tx_news_domain_model_news.author_email.disabled = 1

seems not to work?
Other syntax?

And I am using Typo3 4.7.12!
