[TYPO3-ttnews] tt_news support / TYPO 6.x / news extension

Dear all,

since TYPO3 4.5-4.7 branches will not be supported after 10/2014, update 
to 6.x must be planned.

We rely heavily on tt_news on our current websites but I am unsure about 
the status and whether it will be maintained and supported in the long run.

What would be our best bet now? Stay with tt_news or move to the "news" 
extension? I am not sure, if all the features we use now, would be 
supported.
