[TYPO3-ttnews] Formatstring fur Datum "01.01.2014" (n:format.date)

with this code, the date was generated but it doesn't show in the RSS Feed:

<pubDate><n:format.date
format="%d.%m.%Y">{newsItem.datetime}</n:format.date></pubDate>
