well .. actually you have to copy all  
EXT:news/Resources/Private/Templates/ (not just  
EXT:news/Resources/Private/Templates/News/

because the view.templateRootPath variable needs that!

right!

(and it's a pity becasue there are LOTS of templates inside there :(
