[TYPO3-ttnews] tt_news links not working after update to 4.4.0 and latest realurl

Noticed Jaakko Pasanen had created a bug report (id0014620) 
http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=14620 for Realurl about this very 
issue but Dmitry blamed the problem on tt_news internal cache but that 
can't be the problem since I'm using tt_news 2.5.2 which has no internal 
cache. This issue only came up after I updated Realurl. Dmitry said this 
issue was resolved but it is not. Is this a tt_news or realurl problem?
