[TYPO3-ttnews] how do I get the category filtering to only target one specific list while the web page has multiple tt-news lists on that page

how do I get the category filtering to only target one specific list
while the web page has multiple tt-news lists on that page with
different configurations which I don't want to have affected?
I'm using the latest stable release of tt-news and typo3.
