[TYPO3-ttnews] Default category per SysFolder?

Hello list!

Is it possible to automatically assign a category to a new news-item 
upon creation? The category should be attached to the SysFolder or page 
the news-item has been created in.

I have been digging through the documentation but didn't find anything 
to accomplish such a thing. All (of the 2) previous topics about that 
have been unanswered. Does that mean there is no solution to this problem?
