[TYPO3-ttnews] language permission.

Hi,

my first post to this list.
I am trying to understand how tt_news deals with a BE-user language
permissions.
I guess that the field be_user.allowed_languages is somehow used.
The question: how, where is it used?
Could somebody point out to me the relevant lines of code (and
documentation)?
