I don't know if this is the reason but I had lots of problems with Typo3 
on MySQL 5. AFAIK, MySQL is not offically supported, yet. However, I'm 
working on a Linux platform.
I don't get any error messages with tt_news 2.4.0. Try downgrading MySQL 
5 if nobody has any better suggestions.
