At T3DD there will be a workshop about exactly that topic, it's called 
"Kickstarting Grid Packages" - Additionally we are going to have a new 
crowd funding campaign to have more users, designers and developers 
involved via ideas, design, code and/or just sponsoring.

I already talked to Kay Strobach about possible scenarios for those 
packages as a base for standardized themes based on gridelements and/or 
fluidcontent in TYPO3 and the outcome was really promising.

So stay tuned, there is more to come!
