[TYPO3-templavoila] Externalize XML of DS possible?

Hi,

as I don't like the BE-Editor of Typo3 so much (no syntax-highlighting) 
I'd like to know if it' possible to externalize the DS to an external 
file, like it's possible with Typoscript-Code via 
<INCLUDE_TYPOSCRIPT:source="file:...">?
