[TYPO3-Solr] Nutch and sitehash on a site with SSL

Hi,

After reconfiguring the Nutch installation for the live site indexing 
didn't succeed. In the log we found that getting the siteHash failed. 
Nutch couldn't connect to the API URL.
Using wget to connect to this URL didn't fail. The main difference 
between the development site and the live site is that the live site 
uses HTTPS (forced on server level).

Could it be the case that java.net.URL (which is used in the siteHash 
plugin) can't handle https?
