How did you woraround the issue Thomas described and I encountered as well:

Argument 1 passed to 
ApacheSolrForTypo3\Solr\Domain\Model\ModuleData::setSite() must be an 
instance of Tx_Solr_Site, null given

Are you really running the current master or v2.8.3?
