Better not, really! If you have some records that do have absolute URLs 
you're in trouble.
In one site someone used that trick and after adding an extension which 
indexed external data based on an XML dump there suddenly were URLs like 
http://domain.exthttp://externaldomain.ext/path/to/page

The URLs are created with typolink, both in the queue part of the 
TypoScript configuration (for some records) as in the results part. If 
you force absolute URLs in TypoScript the results should be correct.
