kind of, there's a filter on the siteHash to allow indexing multiple 
sites into one index while only showing the current sites results. That 
filter can be disabled to search across multiple sites.

You'll need to fill a few more fields:

id (required)
appKey (required, choose any)
siteHash (filtered by the extension)
language (filtered by the extension)
type (required)

for content you should have

title
content
url (optional but recommended)
