[TYPO3-Solr] Cores needed per site and per language?

Hi,

The Multicore Setup wiki says: "A multi core setup allows to use one 
index (core) per language and/or environment."

Does this mean that for each language on each domain/site you *need* to 
set up a different core? A colleague said he used the same core on the 
same Solr server for two websites (same language) and the search results 
were not mixed up.

 From the wiki I understand however that I need a separate core for each 
language on each domain/site to separate the search result. Which is 
correct?
