[TYPO3-seminars] fe-editing with select instead of checkboxes for place?

Hello,

is it possible to change the fe-editing form for "place" from checkboxes 
to select like "event_type"

This would make sense as there should only be one place. Addtionally we 
have to deal with many many locations. So this would also shorten the 
whole form.

Same applies for "organizers".

Another question:
How to set up something like TCAdefaults for the fe-editing form?
