Could you please post this to the corresponding bug report in the bug
tracker? Having all relevant information in the bug tracker helps
getting the bug fixed, while posting it here in the newsgroup doesn't.

By the way, in the future please could you please open a new thread for
new topics? Having two topics in one thread will make your question
harder to find the archives because the post content then doesn't match
the post subject.

No, this wouldn't work because sometimes there's no first name, no
gender (if sr_feuser_register is not installed) etc. Please have a look
at the tx_seminars_EmailSalutation class to see how the salutation is built.
