[TYPO3-l10nmgr] Compatibility issue with TemplaVoilà?

Hello everyone,
(Apologies in advance if this newsgroup is not the adequate forum to
post “support” queries. Any pointers in the right direction will be very
much appreciated).
As part of my BA thesis project I’m planning to use l10nmgr in the
localization process for the website of a major training school for
translators and interpreters in Germany.
After installing the l10nmgr extension successfully in our sandbox
environment (TYPO3 v. 4.1.7), creating an l10nmgr configuration and
translating the selected content using the online translation feature, a
new Alternative Page Language is properly created (in this case
“English”), including translated content (subtitle) from the online
translation.
However, the localized (or rather “translated”) content is not inserted
for this newly created language, but as a localization of the default
language (in this case, “German”) and thus not displayed in the
front-end version of the website, since the website – as I understand it
– is configured to work with localized page content rather than
localizations of the default language. I was told this might have
something to do with TemplaVoilà.
(Please refer to this screenshot in case I failed to make myself clear:

This led me to believe that there may be a compatibility/structural
problem with the installed TemplaVoilà (templavoila 1.3.3) and/or
Language Selection (sr_language_menu 1.2.4) extensions respectively.
Basically, my question is whether the l10nmgr extension (or
TYPO3/TemplaVoilà – whatever’s easier/more advisable) is compatible with
TemplaVoilà at all, and if so, whether it (or TYPO3) can be configured
to insert the translations as new content of the alternative languages
rather than as localizations under the default language.
If you need more information regarding the specific configuration of
this TYPO3 version, please shout and I’ll be happy to provide it for you.
Thanks for reading through these newbie-esque ramblings (as they must
seem to you) and for nudging me in the right direction :-)
Kind regards from Munich
