[TYPO3-extbase-kickstarter] What versions to use for a working version?

Hi list,

what is the preriquisites for being able to work with the extbase_kickstarter?

I tried v4.4.4 > and dev 4.5 with different extbase/fluid sets - but 
can't seem to get a running system.
Whatever I tried: it seems like I can do everything but saving... I did 
a full chmod 777 on the appropriate folders, but no luck in that.

What is the suggested setup to be able to use the trunk version?
