The recent discusssion in the topic 'translation' has brought up an
issue that I haven't considered yet along with all our to does about the
docMatrix.

It's about the documentation that the clients of TYPO3 users.

So far we focues on the documentations for TYPO3 users as in web
designers, agencies, programmers, administrators, developers etc.

A newbie in that regard was considered one of the above.

We never really talked about the end user, the client that has also the
need to know a little bit about TYPO3. To my knowledge there are only a
few docs on the docMatrix that are explicitly for clients (editors).
Most of the docs are for TYPO3 users.

That brings a whole new issue for me since I wouldn't want to mix those
up. In this particular case the translation need is quite different.

My proposal for now would be to focus our current discussion on the
above described TYPO3 user and split the client needs from it.

What do you guys think?

The way I see it is that TYPO3 gains the most by getting the docMatrix
structures for TYPO3 users. Here we can savely focus on getting the docs
up to speed in english and don't bother about translation at the moment.

At the same time on a different route the client issue can be a perfect
project for all those who want to contribute but lack of knowledge of
english or technical expertise. Of course we all can crossreference and
help.

Could that be a way to go?

Jean-Marie
