Vim is text editor for developer, often it's the default vi on most Linux.

I work on structured text, it's raw text from the clipboard copied from 
the typo3.org website. For better result, I use sometimes the HTML 
source code.

See vim as a command interpreter in that case, not as text editor. If 
you have Vim's knowledge it's better, of course. But not needed.
