I've just read the topic "RFC: Bidirectioanl MM relations" in 
typo3-team-core and I can't understand, why adding such important 
feature and to shelve relations where the source and the target table 
are the same. This is much important, too.

For me I wrote an extension that introdruce the option "tablename | 
foreignself" for TCAs ["config"]["MM"] as in Mads Brunns bidirectional. 
In this case a second pair of uid_local/uid_foreign with switched values 
is deleted and written in t3lib_loadDBGroup->writeMM. This is quite 
simple, but the sorting isn't important.

I hope there will be time to think about this feature before the next 
minor version will have feature stop.
