[TYPO3-commerce] adding a domain to the basket

Hi list,

I've searched and found one former list items about adding a domainname 
as an item in the basket.

Is 

this still the only way to have something like this done?

For example: if I'd like to sell t-shirts with a user defined text on 
the shirt, this is the way to achieve it, still?
