i think one point under the head infos of phpinfo() in install tool 
would be enough as it don't need such prominent place.

could be
Libraries
memcached	installed / not installed

may be we can add checks here for the index tools like catdoc, unzip, 
htmldoc, xlhtml, ppthtml, unrtf and ghostscript could be added too.

Additional a warning in the yello box if memcached is configured but not 
installed.
