Hi list,
Sorry to bother you, you seem to be quite asleep since February 2010. It could be a good news. Nobody needs to prove anything about TYPO3 :)
Alas, it's not my case.
We're a web French company working mainly with TYPO3 since 2006. I've had to explain and demonstrate TYPO3 to my customers many many times. I've heard all the arguments (complicate, hard to learn, etc.) But since 6 months, I'm facing new questions and they're confusing me as it seems to be spread by other CMS's advocates.
I'm told that "TYPO3 is yet an old CMS, it's declining. It used to be a good CMS but now, it's too old." TYPO3 5 is not helping as the idea is that TYPO3 is no more a flourishing CMS. The good years are now over.
I've never been able to get facts around this but that's not the point. It's said, I need facts against that.
Does anybody have figures on those fields:
- number of new or updated extensions during the last 3 years,
- number of commits on the SVN or activity logs for the core,
- TYPO3 source downloads over the years,
- number of certified integrators over the years.
I would like to produce a small fact checking post explaining that TYPO3 is a living and dynamic community. I would be glad to give it back to any person interested.
Ideas welcome,
PeM
