depending to whom you sent the mails I'd guess either they go into a
mailqueue of 1'000 unanswered mails or they go into a mailqueue of
10'000 unanswered mails...

the developers do NOT promote any products! hopefully they will not do
so! their work is to develop and not primarily to promote the product.

you are right, people should always try to give a short note that they
have received your mail and they will try to answer them. but please be
aware that asking questions about the product can be done in the
marketing list or in the dev list or even in the english mailinglist. to
address a question to a single (or two) developers mostly will not
produce any output within a reasonable time.
If you think only these 2 persons can answer the question you may have
to retry. if not try the mentioned mailinglists.
