hi all,
sorry for being late (in each meaning) and posting in short (tired).

to make it really quick (not really female, i know ;-) :
first of all we have to realise, that the focus of the Association - today
- is NOT the coverage of marketing agenda (except some events).
therefore we either have to organise it ourselves or support the
Association with the means to go for it.
(maybe the announced transparency of planned budgets would help to confirm
my statement...)

FACTS:
1. goals
we need the definition of the T3-marketing goals - nationally and
internationally
they don't exist by now. (TUGA just did it for AT in february 2005)
one of the questions that has to be answered here will be:
do we want TYPO3 to be a European product or an international one -
internationally not by accident but by plan?

2. measures
we need to define the measures to reach those goals - nationally and
internationally
they are not defined by now.

3. planning
this includes: responsibilities, ressources, timeschedules, metrics, etc.
guess that we (and the question now is: who?? the man in the mirrow?) will
build task forces for each measurement

4. processes
the organisation and way how it only can work (if it does) will be like
federations work.
the same way we will have to do the marketing as well as the procedures
internally.

DETAILS:
regarding Marketing meetings:
please start it all in your own countries (like the TUGs nationally).
If we can settle that for more than 3 nations showing results, it makes
sense to start working on an international base - which in my opinion is an
Association topic - at least coordinationwise. Parallel the Association
should find out about the countries, that are going to waste - if the goal
is to have an international product by plan.

regarding Marketing topics:
this covers much more than gimmiks and speaches @ fairs.
we could imagine partnering models, marketing toolkits, press/newsfeed,
international customer plattforms, just to mention some.. and much more....

TO DOs:
regarding points 1-4 the design of a rough concept is on its way to be put
in writing.
if it works out as planned, we are coming back to you in october 05, so we
can start all togethe on our tasks in january 06.
it will need: planning, setup, designing and executing - not only one skill!
so, we need all of you!
all who are interested in the future of TYPO3.

so far from that side of the planet - good night or better - good morning,

sabina
