I don't see the low budget market of much interest for the TYPO3 community
at this point.

Usually the low budget market would create a lot of TYPO3 installations
because it is about quantity. I don't think it would create much feedback in
terms of contribution but much more need for support on a free of charge
bases.

Targeting the corporate, educational and governmental market would create
more cash flow for professionals that can contribute in many ways and from
the technical point of view it looks like TYPO3 is aiming for higher goals.

On one hand you could say it would be bad for the German market (or other
high priced ones) because a man hour is much cheaper in the east. This could
work for installations, hostings and some minor prefab websites.

But if it's about individuality, specific programming etc. I think the
customer still prefers the professional in his neighbourhood (exception
would be big companies that could divert whole departements to eastern
countries or India).

Still, why should we support something that is not supporting our future
income but rather challenge it?

Sure, TYPO3 is ready to put as much focus on its branding as on its
technical development. With that, some good strong structures and a focused
marketing a low budget market approach wouldn't hurt much or could even be
useful. I guess timing would be a key component.
