The idea for FTP push was simply to take off load from typo3.org.
Plus if typo3.org is going down for whatever reasons (routers sometimes have their very own way of dealing things) the sites that use the stream in realtime won't load until a timeout occurs and somehow I don't like the idea.

Volunteer - but I'd like to know the timeframe and the full featurelist first before I want to make my comitment :)
