Some questions about "New product campain"

I think this design, made by Carla, is good for this site.
I plan to use the same photo as you see now (this photo is from "Lorem"
TYPO3 extension).
The left column will be the same on all pages.
In right colum on http://testsite.punkt.de/80.0.html will be some content,
taken from "B2C demo site" 
(to demonstrate content reusing)
Is it OK?
Is it good to make:
1) Droup down menu like on http://zend.com/codex.php (I mean top menu)
2) Path menu to show current position (in the top of right column)?
