[Typo3-marketing] TYPO3.com and general marketing news

Hi D,

Well, that won't be too hard to make a design like that ain't it? Guess you don't want things to happen like http://www.magnolia.info/en/international/press-releases.html where half of the header suddenly disapears ;-)
What do you think of centralising the design like we did on the Cerestar websites (http://www.cerestarfoodandpharma.com/)?
With screens becoming bigger and resolutions upgrading we think that sites that are positioned at the left give a screen that's too empty..
Btw what is 'the partnet network'? Is that us or did I miss something?

Ciao,

Sander

Subject: [Typo3-marketing] TYPO3.com and general marketing news

Hi folks,

Time to rock it from the delta to the DMZ :-)
Since i was burried in 625 pages of the TYPO3 book due out in the stores
after September 12th in german and later this year in english, i sort of
abandoned this thread.

Sorry about that. Well, yesterday i saw magnolia.info and i have to say,
they've got a lot of stuff I wanted to have for TYPO3.com for quite some
time.

Are you still available? Anyone willing to help on the graphics for a very
soft refreshening? Template production? Structure and Text review?

I would like to have some time at t3board05 discussing this as well.
Any other things you would like to have on the "marketing agenda"?

Here are some General news of varying marketing value:

- please don't forget to pay your snowboard tour registration soon!

- Dominic Brander and i will be holding a speech at OSCOM4 in Zurich in
October on "Open Source Collaboration Mechanisms in the TYPO3 project",
mostly reporting on TER and our experience with organisational matters.
A paper on this speech will be published in due course.
http://www.oscom.org/events/oscom4/proposals/typo3

- I will be taking part in a plenum discussion on advantages in
cost-effectiveness of Open Source CMS's compared to commercial offerings at
Systems Trade fair in Munich in October.

- the TYPO3 partner network will be present at the trade fair with it's own
stand. So is Robert Meyer with Mittwald Medien. More news from the network
soon.

- gov.typo3.com will be going online in a first german version during
September, accoring to Jan's plans. Anyone interested in helping with the
translation into english?

- a first version of edu.typo3.org will be published to a selected audience
(you) on September 15th. Sabina is working on that one.

- please check out my mail and Björn Schottes replies on the dev list
regarding the JSR170 standard. I believe this is hot stuff, as it is opening
potential migration paths for us and helps to deliver on the "enterprise"
promise we are making.

- The Gartner Group has included TYPO3 in it's survey of the Open Source CMS
scene as an emerging system. You can find it at
http://www3.gartner.com/DisplayDocument?ref=g_search&id=429223
It's 99 USD i believe, but good marketing material.

Cheers,

Daniel
