Hi Folks.

Just wanted to write down my Notes of the Meeting we held in Splügen
regarding the Marketing of TYPO3 in General and on typo3.com.

Target of our Marketing Directives should be to drive more Companies to Use
TYPO3 as their choice of a CMS.

We discussed how this be achieved. One of the posibilities could be to have
more Case Studies on Typo3. Those Case Studies should emphasize on the Typo3
Core Features such as:

Userscenarios, Special Extensions, Perfomance, Costs of Training, Total Cost
of Ownership.

Further on the Case Studies should have a Criteria like Branches of
Industry. We mentioned here: Wholessale (ERP), Producing Industries,
Consulting, Banking and Financing, B2B and so on. This List is not Final.

As one Approach of getting more Case Studies, we talked about creating a
Survey, that in a First Step would help to find those Cas Studies. Further
on we thought that writing a Extension containing this Survey could help to
have an ongoing Datastream of Installed Typo3 Websites. This would be a
non-mandatory Way....

We would anounce the Survey on the General mailing List, asking to forward
the Information to the persons in Charge.

Once this has started, we could help to create the Text of this Casestudy.

I offered to the Group to be the Person in charge of creating that Survey.

As a next Point we discussed, that we need make typo3.com more atractive in
issuing more news that are related to typo3. Questions arose about what are
news and how we could get those.

Sander from Netcreators offered to Examine Logfiles and optimize Metatags of
the Website.

We also spoke of the lack of propagation of Typo3 in the UK and the US.
Daniel told us, that he already contacted some Agency in the UK. With this
Agency it could be possible to start to get some public interests on typo3
websites done by them.

We spoke also about gathering more information on Typo3 in the Press.

Furtheron we have spoken about getting certain parts of the typo3.com into
local languages. German translation i.e

We discussed about Customer Quotes.

We also had a excursion to the planned Training Offerings, the Extension
revision Process. Extension Security, Quality of HTML Output,
Revisionmanagement...

We have spoken about interactive elements in typo3.com. Such as Extension of
the Month.

We need to publize the amount of typo3 developers..

#####
This is all what i have found on my notes and in my brain.

Which steps are next???

Many Greetins to all of you.
Olivier
