[TYPO3-linux] installation of version 4.1.1.: localconf.php is not writable!

Hello,

I am a newbee.
I tried to find a suitable web CMS system and Typo3 seems to be the
most suitable for me. But I have problems with the installation.

The provider provides for me a site with:
•	Linux www 2.6.19.7
•	Server API: Apache 2.0 Handler
•	safe_mode: ON, PHP version: 4.4.6, cURL: ON, MySQL: ON, MSSQL:
ON PostgreSQL: ON, Oracle: OFF
•	Disable functions : leak, pfsockopen, shell_exec, proc_open, syslog
•	Other parameters: http://typo3.ckventa.com/phpinfo.php

Because I am not familiar with the Unix I downloaded the zip version
of the packages, extracted them and copied to the server using FTP.

After starting the installation I got many warnings like this:

Warning: mkdir(…/typo3temp/pics) [function.mkdir]: Permission denied
in …/t3lib/class.t3lib_div.php on line 2522

Warning: mysql_list_tables(): supplied argument is not a valid
MySQL-Link resource in …/t3lib/class.t3lib_db.php on line 966

When I ignored the warnings and filled in the first form I got the next error:
/typo3conf/localconf.php is not writable!

Then I read the installation instructions for tar.gz packages where I
found the steps to make directories writable for the webserver. I
downloaded maybe four PHP Shells from Internet, but probably because
of safe_mode set to ON and some disabled functions, no one PHP shell
works.

I tried to find some articles in the archive of this Forum, but I did
not find any mail with the help when there is no shell (it's not an
option to change the server configuration).

As I wrote, I am not familiar with the Unix, so maybe I overlooked something.
Please, could you help me with the installation?

Thanks a lot.
Regards,
Miro
