[TYPO3-linux] Install Problem? - Default Templates Not Available

I'm not sure if this is a bug with Typo3 or as I suspect an installation
problem.

I have installed v4.0.2 on my server, created one page, then gone to add a
template, but the template combo box is not populated. I have never had this
problem when running on a localhost.

It was installed on the webserver using Fantastico, and I have already had
problems with that not setting up file attributes correctly, because my
hosts use phpSuExec. Could this problem be related to that?

As far as my knowledge goes, the files are present for the supplied
templates, but I'm not fully sure where I should be looking.
