[TYPO3-linux] Cannot access typo3 in browser

Dimitri,

Out of desperation and frustration I wiped out the contents of my main site 
folder on webtest (/var/www/www.meridianschools.org, which 
"webtest.meridianschools.org" points to in the browser) to try & see if I 
could get the 1-2-3 install tools to come up in firefox. After commenting 
out the last if statement in 
/var/www/typo3_src-3.8.1/typo3/install/index.php I could see the TYPO3 3.8.1 
Install Tool, but it wouldn't accept my username/password and none of my 
searches through newsgroups or Google have revealed the problem.

I'd still like to get to the bottom of why I couldn't access cms_staff, but 
am not stumped by this new problem as well. Hope I'm not bugging you with 
this stuff but I'm really frustrated that I'm having so much difficulty and 
I haven't even started USING it yet.
