[TYPO3-linux] SUSE or Debian?

I don't know much about SuSE.
The only Linux experience I have is with Debian. But the thing is that 
I'm not the one who is going to maintain the server.
He who is going to maintain it prefers SuSE over Debian, - as he thinks 
it performs better than Debian. I don't know if he is right, but he 
works with servers at work.

When he is more comfortable SuSE, the question is if this is the distro 
to go for?
