[TYPO3-linux] new install not working

Greetings,
I have installed a clean install of typo3 V4 and everything has worked perfectly until I try and log into the [BE] backend admin side. I used the default user:admin, pass:password and I get rejected each time with the usual "Your login attempt did not succeed. Make sure to spell your username and password correctly, including upper/lowercase characters."
I have tried the default and have not had any success. I have installed the same version of the software on another server hosted by the same company with complete success.

Please help!
