[Typo3-linux] A single source code installation for many web Sites

Hi,

I wonder if some one can help me with information or examples about the  
use of a single source code installation with many Web sites in a Linux  
server.

I found that the source code of Typo3 can be installed in httpd and be  
used for many web sites. However, I had not got a single example.

My Web sites are in /home/httpd/vhost/domain.com I assume that I can  
install the source code in /home/httpd and the projects within each  
directory but do not know how.

Please let me know if you had used such configuration, also if it is  
better than make a source code installation for each domain.
