Glad to hear that.

The only thing GhostScript is needed for is to create thumbnail images
of PDF files uploaded by users. Even if you get it right, and decide
to use this feature, you quite often will be faced with PDFs created
with no embedded fonts which will work fine on windows buy obviously
fail to render correctly on Linux.
All in all, I would not worry about GhostScript at all, especially if
your RH9 is now X-free. If you don't have it, it's not worth the
efforts to install it. The rest of the stuff in TYPO3 will work just
fine.
As far as the end of deployment - if gs is all that's left I would say
you are done, my friend!

I understand. The thing that bugs me about VPS is that most providers
don't give you a lot of choice in what distro you can run. RedHat 9
was great back in the day, but it's so way in the past now.
In particular, when I tried Typo3 with stock RH9 PHP packages I had
lots of problem with their built-in GD and lack of LZW compression for
GIFs. You may not, however see all that if you rebuild your own PHP as
a part of Apache through cPanel.

It depends on what are you planning to do with it, but yes, Typo3 is
one of the best free CMS around (if not THE best) in terms of final
results that it can deliver. Internal design, complexity and learning
curve is another story but many (me included) are willing to tolerate
these shortcomings for the sake of total value it delivers.

No problem, come again;)
