Hello, and thank you for your help.
I've installed the testsite one, but are getting this error when trying
to view a site.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: imagegif() in
/home/petronas/www/catonett/ftp/cato/t3lib/class.t3lib_stdgraphic.php on
line 1405
What is wrong?
www.catonett.com/ftp/cato/index.php
(Click on one of the image examples, and then you see the problem)
regards

Strange. Under normal circumstances, installing typo3 is a really
straightforward task (as long as you do not need imagemagick). I would
suppose the
following:
1. Delete all typo3-related files and directories from your webspace
2. Delete (every) mysql-database, that holds typo3-information
3. Copy the quickstart- or testsite-package to your webspace. It should
leave you with a directory structure that looks like this:
testsite/.htaccess
testsite/clear.gif
testsite/index.php
testsite/showpic.php
testsite/fileadmin/
testsite/fileadmin/_temp_/
testsite/media/
...
testsite/t3lib/
...
testsite/tslib/
...
testsite/typo3/
...
testsite/typo3conf/
...
testsite/typo3temp/
...
testsite/uploads/
...
Then start the installation process by calling testsite/index.php and go
through the 1-2-3-installation. After this you should have a working
front- and
backend. I would suggest that you start with the quickstart-package and
go
through the tutorial provided on typo3.org.

If you start from scratch with the steps mentioned above, it should
really
work. I've installed typo3 on a couple of sites now and it worked always
when
going through these steps.
