[Typo3-linux] Problems with template

Hello

I've been trying to get typo3 to work for days, without much success. I
have tried to install quickstart, dummy, and test. Now I have
quickstart, but there is no template. 

I tryed to make one myself, but I don't seem to understand how it works.
I'm the kind of person that learns from seeing an example that I can
modify. 
Can anyone help me setting up a template or showing me how to find one? 

And this football site, that is an example, I don't manage to get to
work. 

I kindly ask for some help. 

If someone can help me, they can get access to the ftp, if that makes it
more simple.
