[Typo3-linux] some rather major Typo3 problems

The installation instructions point to a URL that does not have any of the
software it mentions. That URL is not mentioned anywhere on typo3.com or
typo3.org, except as a parent directory to one of the links ... I think it
would help to have such a package linked from the requirements page (as it
is, there isn't a single link on that page to any of the sites of the
required software).
I don't know if it is worth it to download that package when the 4.2.9 RPM
I found does seem to be working, just that it can't find that one text
file (I am not even sure what it is used for). I have limited monthly
data-transfer, so I try to keep uncecessary downloads to a minimum ...
even without them, I still end up downloading far too much, bleh.

Do I just create an empty database ? I thought Typo3 needed to create a
bunch of defaults in the database.
