I have done it on a site basis on an Ensim 3.5 w/ Redhat 7.2.  Easy.  The
hardest part was getting ImageMagick to compile correctly.  Also install
GDlib.  I only do it for some sites...  If you had time you could write an
install and integrate it into Ensim if you are creating enough sites.  After
the first one works all others are just copying source and creating the
database.  Used the Typo3 install docs.

ImageMagick 4.2.9 config ::
./configure -enable-lzw=yes -without-x -enable-shared -disable-static -witho
ut-perl -without-frozenpaths -with-ttf=yes
